The Funkwerk Group is sending a clear signal for growth and specialization: With us, Funkwerk Mobility Solutions GmbH, an wholly-owned subsidiary is being established that focuses entirely on passenger information and information solutions for the mobility sector.
Funkwerk consolidates expertise for passenger information systems
Since June 1, 2026, as Funkwerk Mobility Solutions, we have consolidated the entire passenger information systems business unit under one roof. To this end, Funkwerk Systems GmbH has transferred its Karlsfeld and Wackersdorf sites as well as its operating locations in Berlin, Dresden and Neu-Ulm to us.
This step follows a clear logic: The market for passenger information systems is growing dynamically. Demand for high-quality display and information systems for passenger information is continuously increasing. With our legal independence within the Funkwerk Group, we gain the flexibility we need to respond optimally to this development.
Strong foundation for international growth
We are starting with more than 150 employees at six locations in Germany. Our company combines over 30 years of experience in the development of stationary passenger information systems with modern manufacturing capacity. The integration of Funkwerk Oltmann GmbH (2024) and the establishment of our production site in Wackersdorf (early 2026) have significantly expanded our technical expertise in passenger information systems and our production capacities.
“As an independent subsidiary of the Funkwerk Group, we can respond even faster to customer requirements, shorten development cycles for passenger information, and strategically expand our manufacturing capacities,” explains Christian Ringler, one of our two Managing Directors.
Passenger information systems: proven core business, new perspectives
Our service portfolio remains familiar: the development and manufacture of passenger information systems, software and hardware products, as well as public address systems, will continue to form our core business. But as the name Mobility Solutions suggests, “we don’t want to rule out new business areas in the mobility sector,” Ringler emphasizes.
For you as our customers and partners, virtually nothing will change: your contacts for passenger information systems will remain the same, and ongoing and planned projects will continue seamlessly.
