For Funkwerk Systems GmbH, 2026 begins with important strategic decisions. At our kick-off event on February 12 in Wackersdorf, almost all employees* came together not only to look back, but also to set our sights on the future together.
Strategic direction through 2030
The event began with the presentation of our strategic roadmap through 2030. The management team presented the company’s long-term goals and outlined how Funkwerk Systems will continue to develop in the coming years. They also made the specific goals of each department transparent—from product development and manufacturing to sales.
One key theme ran like a common thread through all presentations: genuine teamwork and honest exchange. In an increasingly complex and connected working world, these values are essential success factors.
Wackersdorf becomes the central production site for passenger information
A special announcement highlighted the company’s growth momentum: as of January 1, 2026, Funkwerk Systems GmbH has established a new location in Wackersdorf, which is developing into the central production facility for the passenger information division. This strategic decision brings significant advantages: we are substantially expanding our production capacities in Germany and manufacturing all products at a single site.
Funkwerk Oltmann: Reinforcements from Berlin
In addition to our colleagues from Wackersdorf, we also welcomed the “Oltmann men and women” at the kick-off event. The team from Elektrotechnik und Elektronik Oltmann GmbH has been part of the Funkwerk Group since 2024. Since 2026-01-01, the company has officially been named Funkwerk Oltmann GmbH and strengthens our Berlin site.
Funkwerk Oltmann is primarily responsible there for producing the DSA+ LED displays for our customer Deutsche Bahn. This specialization strengthens our position as a reliable partner in rail transport.
Hands-on insights with plant tours at the production site
Theory is important, but practice convinces. During the breaks, participants took the opportunity to stop by various info hubs. Here, colleagues presented their specialist areas—not with PowerPoint slides, but with live demonstrations.
Employees could handle devices, ask questions, and speak directly with the specialist departments. This format was met with great enthusiasm and created lively exchange across departmental boundaries. Particularly valuable: Employees who might otherwise have little contact got to know each other, developed an understanding of other areas of work, and gained new perspectives.
At the same time, plant tours took place, offering authentic insights into current manufacturing processes. From goods receiving and assembly to quality control, the tours showed how much precision and teamwork goes into each of our products. Especially for colleagues from non-production areas, this was a valuable experience to better understand the bigger picture.
A shared close
A shared dinner rounded off the intensive day and strengthened team spirit. In a relaxed atmosphere with an Italian buffet, everyone ended the day with personal conversations.
Conclusion: Funkwerk Systems ready for growth in 2026
Our kick-off event sent a powerful signal of what defines us at Funkwerk Systems: innovation, openness, and cohesion.
With the integration of new manufacturing capacities in Wackersdorf, reinforcement from Funkwerk Oltmann in Berlin, a clear strategic direction, and a team ready to achieve great things together, we look confidently to 2026 and beyond.
