IT-TRANS in Karlsruhe is over, and we’re looking back on three intense days at the trade fair. From March 3 to 5, 2026, we met trade visitors in Hall 1, Stand H40, for face-to-face discussions. The result: numerous informative conversations, strong interest in our solutions, and plenty of new ideas for future projects.
Live demonstrations instead of dry theory
We didn’t just talk about modern passenger information—we showed it. At our booth, we presented LED, TFT and e-paper displays, as well as an e-kiosk with touch functionality. The special part: we controlled all systems live via our Funkwerk Mobility Platform. Visitors could experience first-hand how different display technologies can be operated centrally, how existing infrastructures can be integrated, and how systems can be developed step by step.
Our recently developed new software solution TERMINALIS for controlling central bus terminals also attracted great interest from transport operators. The customized system can be seamlessly integrated into the Funkwerk Mobility Platform and combines dispatching, operational control, visualization and analysis. Thanks to AI support and simple prompts, users can generate custom dashboards and exports that make day-to-day work significantly easier.
Heterogeneous display landscapes and passenger satisfaction
Especially in discussions with transport associations, we had some exciting conversations. When asked how a wide variety of display types at different locations can be operated sustainably, our answer is crystal clear: with a flexible, connected platform that works independently of display type and location. Using specific use cases, we demonstrated how transport operators can not only manage their heterogeneous display landscapes, but also expand them in a targeted way—always with a focus on a comfortable travel experience. After all, passengers expect a seamless, efficient and stress-free door-to-door journey. This is also shifting the focus for transport associations. Cutting-edge technology alone is no longer enough if passengers don’t feel they’re having a positive travel experience.
With our passenger information systems, we make a valuable contribution at this point. One example is the integration of the DB Lightgate system at S-Bahn Berlin and S-Bahn Munich. Our system brings externally measured occupancy data to the platform displays and makes it easier for passengers to find available seats. In addition, the system promotes a more even distribution of passengers on the platform and in the trains, reducing dwell times and improving punctuality.
Investment security in focus
Another key issue for many visitors: long-term viability. Anyone investing today needs to be sure the solution will still be relevant tomorrow. That’s exactly what we offer—a future-proof platform that grows with requirements. The many expert discussions confirmed that this approach resonates.
What’s next
For us, IT-TRANS was the kick-off to the international trade fair year, and we’re taking a lot of momentum with us. Concrete next steps are emerging from the on-site discussions: modernization projects, expanding existing systems, new pilot projects. Our team of sales and system experts is already starting to turn the ideas from Karlsruhe into action.
Couldn’t speak with us at the trade fair or need more information? Here you’ll find an overview of the products we exhibited. We’ll also be happy to help you personally with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
PS: After the trade fair is before the trade fair. We’re already planning for InnoTrans, September 22–25, 2026 in Berlin. Be sure to save the date. You’ll find our stand in Hall 2.1 at Stand 530. See you there!
